What Is Reiki?
Reiki is the energy of life.
While it is a term that is foreign to many, Reiki is becoming more popular in the main stream each and every day. Developed during the 19th Century by Dr Mikao Usui, Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of energetic healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It is used both as a hands-on (Laying on of hands) and distance healing technique to balance, relieve stress, and promote the body’s natural ability to heal,balance and stabilization.
The ancient form of this amazing energy healing technique promotes your body’s own ability to heal, thus allowing it to utilize the healing elements within itself. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
Reiki also benefits those in end of life to give a sense of peace and understanding of the death and dying process including a release from suffering. It is used frequently inside of hospice facilities as well as a palliative care adjunct. The transition process of those faced with death and dying can be long, painful and even cumbersome. Reiki is provides for those experiencing the end of life phase as well as the caregivers to renew areas affected by grief, stress and often times caregiver burnout.
Reiki treats the whole person; including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Reiki has been extensively studied in these areas and while science has no true explanation to those that report findings of better health, less pain, emotion modulation and assistance with destructive habits, those who administer Reiki to others are not at all surprised.
Reiki is the energy of the Divine Creator (God) that uses the practitioner as a conduit to assist other however needed in the body. While it is largely intention based from the recipient; meaning that there has to be an understanding that their precious life force energy will be released in the most prevalent areas of the body and the mind to restore balance to any imbalances.
There are those who practice Reiki that are intuitively gift and therefore have a much better understanding of energy , it’s manifestations, including the signs and symptoms of any maladies or imbalance from both a physical and a spiritual perspective. This is not required to be an effective practitioner but often those who have been practicing for any length of time become very adept at their own intuition and their ability to connect with the energy of others.
